It’s taken alot of time and many years... It's taken alot of time and many years, To overcome obstacles and work through fears, To come to a point in my life where it just feels right, Letting go of the demons that keep me up at night, It's taken alot of time and many years, To forgive and march on through my many tears, To find that guidance that luminous light, To allow my wings to finally take flight, It's taken alot of time and many years, To understand truly what patience bares, To breakthrough the chains that held me down, So that I could see why I was still around, It's taken alot of time and many years, To see the problem was not mine but theirs, To stop making excuses for people who don't matter, Stop being persecuted by ignorant chatter, Seeing I was walkin down a beaten path, Where no one could solve my internal aftermath, It's taken alot of time and many years, To pick up the pieces from the broken mirrors, The shattered heart the cold chill ways, The fallacy love with the unsettled gaze, It's taken alot of time and many years, To truly understand the lesson that everyone hears, Two hearts that now coincide as one, Breathe now baby we have just begun, The challenge we take comes from within, The debt we pay arises from sin, Not taking for granted not even a minute in time, This inseparable encounter so sublime, Trust me....
